How to send a parcel or documents by plane
Sending something by plane means finding a passenger on the right flight, meeting them at the departure airport and having someone meet them on arrival. Airlines don’t carry such items — travelers do.
Can you hand over documents at the airport?
Yes: meeting the passenger before check-in is the most common way. The passenger should see what they take, and the item must comply with the airline’s rules and the destination country’s rules. The one carrying it answers for it at customs.
Step by step
- Find a passenger. On Whoflies travelers post trips with dates — find your route on destinations or post a request: “documents Moscow → Istanbul by November 25”.
- Agree in Telegram. What you send, size and weight, where and when you meet, who meets them on arrival.
- Meet before check-in. Usually at the check-in desks or the terminal entrance 1.5–2 hours before departure.
- Hand it over open. Let the passenger see the contents and take a photo of the handover.
- Meet on arrival. The recipient waits in the arrivals hall; exchange phone numbers in advance.
Price
You agree on it together — from a thank-you to a fee for the effort and luggage space. No service fee. Pay in person, no prepayment.
What not to send
Nothing sealed, nothing the passenger is not ready to show at customs, nothing the airline or the destination bans. Import rules by country: IATA Travel Centre.
